I haven’t been posting much lately because I have been sick and not really eating anything interested at all. I also apologise in advance if this post doesn’t make much sense either since I am still sick and on cold medication!
So, let’s go back a few days to my mom’s birthday! My mom was in the mood for Greek food and normally we would head over to Greek islands but she said that Rendezvous located at 9360 Young Rd in Chilliwack has amazing Greek food. I have never been there before so I was excited to try it out.
Rendezvous is in an older building right on the corner so you can’t miss it. Nothing made me think it was going to be Greek though. Even the sign outside said half price pasta Monday. Walking through the restaurant was the same feeling. It was older, not much ambience and everyone was eating pasta. When we were seating and I saw the menu I realized what kind of restaurant it was. A 60 item menu with everything on it. There was stir fry, pizza, schnitzel, Greek, pasta, sandwiches…..to a foodie this might make you cringe but I like these kinds of places. The food is always a great value and is usually tasty.
My mom and I ended up getting a Greek platter for 2, which was more than enough for 3 or 4 people and my dad also got Greek as well. We probably should have just all shared. It came with Chicken souvlaki, prawn souvlaki, rice, potatoes, kalamari, and 4 dolmades pita bread and of course Greek salad to start.
That photo was after my mom and I filled out plates. The food was delicious. I think that was some of the best rice I have had in a while at any Greek restaurant. I really didn’t have any complaints at all, other than having too much cheese on my Greek salad but to some people (like my mom) that is a positive thing.
